Train right by running on the proper surface– Training for a marathon on surfaces like a treadmill or on the grass will not properly prepare your feet for the impact of rougher pavement. Figure out where you will be running during the marathon, and practice on the same type of surface when you are training.
Treat your feet with a bath– After the marathon, give your feet a fifteen minute ice bath at your house or hotel. Providing your feet with care immediately after the event can ultimately prevent severe foot pain the following day.
