Dr. Klein, an Illinois native, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon at Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois (FASI), caring for patients in Algonquin, Barrington, and the surrounding communities. She brings more than ten years of surgical experience to FASI and also helps train the next generation of podiatrists as a faculty member at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University.
Dr. Klein earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Miami University in Ohio before returning to Illinois for her medical degree at Scholl College. She went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at the Northport VA Medical Center in New York, followed by a fellowship in rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she lectures nationally and internationally.
At FASI, Dr. Klein treats patients of all ages and activity levels. Her special interests include sports injuries, tendon and ligament injuries, bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, fractures, neuropathy, diabetic foot care, wound care and limb salvage, foot and ankle arthroscopy, and regenerative medicine. She builds every treatment plan around the individual, bringing fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness into the conversation so her patients can get back to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Klein knows what it takes to stay active. At Miami University, she was a varsity synchronized skater and a multiple-time national champion, and today she stays involved in the figure skating community by helping young athletes build healthy training habits. She is also a proud sports parent who can often be found cheering from the sidelines. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, scouting, gardening, cycling, and spending time with her family and her dog.
